For our music video, it is likely to appeal to the female gender more. This is due to the type of song (pop) and how the music video is upbeat throughout with a continuous reference to one main character. Although we think it is more likely to appeal to females, it has some aspects within the music video that means it would appeal to both sex's.
We feel that most music videos have an age range, this is due to the type of music you listen too often changing and developing as you get older. With our music video, there is no specific age range as the video is quiet broad and suitable for a variety of people. However we feel that our main age group we are targeting our music video is teenagers to young adults (14-25) as they are more likely to understand the music video without getting bored, therefore it may not be suitable for children.
We think that our video could appeal to people that have children, as many people within this age bracket may have children. However, although the children may like our music video due to the bright colours and (after the first verse) upbeat tune they may not understand it. This is why we have decided not to target our music video at children.
Social groups are also an important aspect of our media product, because we are doing a pop song these often appeal to a mass market therefore a variety of social groups. However, other music videos will only attract a small segment of the market. This is called a niche market.
